More Holiday Gift Ideas... pet treats, toys and grooming!

We want you and your pet to enjoy as safe and happy "howliday" as possible. If your pet exhibits lethargy or begins to vomit, be sure to get them to an Emergency Clinic immediately. And, we hope you'll share your favorite recipes and gift items here!

Planning to give your pet new treats, but unsure if they will upset his/her stomach? According to one of our favorite Veterinarians, Dr. Mike Hatcher of Premier VetCare in Smyrna, TN... the best rule of thumb is to read the ingredients so you are aware of any "uncommon ingredients" and don't overfeed. Treats are meant to be a taste - not a whole meal. If you want to give treats abundantly - consider fresh fruit and vegetables. But remember, no grapes or raisins!

Looking for a toy that serves a dual purchase of improving your pet's health as well? My favorite toy to bring home to my pittie are the rope bones that I can buy at Target for $.99. They act just like floss - as he chews and chomps on the bone to "rip it apart"... the strings floss his teeth! Always supervise your pet with this toy as swallowing the strings can cause major problems in the intestines resulting in a costly surgery to save your pet's life.

Want to spruce up your pet without having to pay for a full groom? John Paul Pet now offers a full line of grooming products for animals (and tested on humans!). From Awapoochi to Oatmeal Shampoo for a traditional bath, to a Foaming Waterless Shampoo that is brushed through the coat, to wipes for teeth, ears, eyes and paws... these products will "freshen" up your pet in a hot minute! You can purchase John Paul Pet Products online or at most any Paul Mitchell School near you.

Tell us what you do you for your pets at the holidays!
